Description:

Largest Known Mint Multiple

"Yellow Hat Variety", 1998 Unissued Non-Denominational "H" Rate Stamp, Multicolor. (Original Gum - Never Hinged). A four by five block of 20, the largest known mint multiple of this unissued "Postcard Rate" stamp, originally intended to cover the 20c postcard rate in conjunction with the January 10, 1999 first class postal rate increase. Beginning with the initial discovery of ten mint examples in a kitchen drawer in a home just outside Greencastle, IN, only slightly over 100 mint examples are known, mostly discovered in Greencastle, overall with most blocks having been broken into singles, a number of which are faulty. This block is fresh and boasts even centering throughout, with rich bright colors on clean paper, and full original gum, with scattered fingerprints on the gum as is the case for most, if not all known examples, and has been previously folded along the perfs between rows two and three, with perf separations noted between positions 6 and 11, and two trivial scuffed perfs at the lower right of position 20. An Extremely Fine to Superb and extremely rare showpiece of significant importance. 2008 PSE Certificate...
